Web Interface

The Web Interface of the Cognaize Platform serves as a user-friendly front-end to the Workflow Engine, providing an intuitive graphical interface for managing workflows and processes. This section delves into the capabilities offered through the Web Interface, emphasizing how users can interact with and control their workflows and processes directly from the browser.

Managing Workflows

Workflows, which serve as definitions for a series of steps to be executed, can be easily managed through the Web Interface. Users are afforded the following capabilities:

  • Create Workflows: Users can define new workflows by specifying the sequence of steps, along with the associated parameters and conditions for each step. This process is facilitated by a guided interface that ensures clarity and ease of use.
  • Update Workflows: Existing workflows can be modified to adapt to changing requirements or to optimize processes. Users can add, remove, or modify steps within a workflow, as well as adjust parameters and conditions to better align with their objectives.
  • Delete Workflows: Workflows that are no longer needed or that need to be replaced can be deleted from the system, ensuring that the workflow repository remains relevant and uncluttered.

Interacting with Processes

Beyond workflow management, the Web Interface also provides tools for interacting with processes—the instances of workflows that are executed based on the defined steps and parameters. Users can perform the following actions:

  • Start Processes Manually: While workflows can be triggered automatically (e.g., by document uploads), users also have the option to start processes manually through the Web Interface. This feature is particularly useful for testing or for workflows that require explicit initiation.
  • Restart Failed Processes: In instances where a process fails due to an error or an exception, users can manually restart the process. This capability ensures that temporary issues can be quickly resolved without the need for extensive intervention.
  • View and Filter Process Logs: The Web Interface provides a comprehensive logging view, allowing users to monitor the progress and status of their processes. Logs can be filtered by workflow, process ID, status, and other criteria, making it easier to diagnose issues and understand process outcomes.

Through the Web Interface, the Cognaize Platform empowers users with direct control over their workflows and processes, combining powerful backend automation with an accessible and intuitive frontend. This synergy enhances productivity, facilitates rapid adjustments to workflows, and ensures transparency and oversight over process executions.
